“Easy Apple Pie”

Pie crust

5 ½ cups all-purpose flour sifted in a bowl

1 tsp salt sifted and mix into flour

Chop in a package of lard with pastry cutter until pea size and all flour is cut in.

In a measuring cup add 1 egg, beaten, add one tablespoon of white vinegar.

Fill measuring cup with cold water up to the 1 cup line.

Pour liquid over flour mixture; stir in lightly until all flour is mixed in. Use your hands if needed.

Do not overwork the dough.

Make into 4 large balls or 6 small. 2 large double crusted pies or 3 small double crusted pies. Chill and roll out.

You can freeze as well, thaw before using.

Peel and thinly slice 6 – 7 McIntosh apples

Put apples inside bottom uncooked crust.

Mix ½ cup white sugar and 6 – 7 tbsps of cinnamon together.

Sprinkle evening over apples, sprinkle more cinnamon on top.

Cover with top crust, squeeze edged together and use your finger to

make the edge fluted, cut 2 slits in top of pie crust.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour, check after 30 & 45 minutes for even cooking.

If the crust is getting to dark, cover with tinfoil and continue to bake for the remainder.

Let cool and eat! There is nothing better than warm apple pie.

Tip: For an amazing twist of flavor you can add some fresh or frozen blueberries over the apples. Remember you can always make a recipe your own.
